What made me write “What to do when you get friendzoned?” ?

The “What to do when you get friendzoned?” is based on a personal experience.

I have a very close friend, almost my bestfriend, we just happened to be not so fond of putting labels in relationships.

We talked everyday about anything and everything, our whereabouts, what we’re currently doing, what we will do, whatever it is that we can think of, until one day he invited me for a dinner, something we casually do.

Dinner time comes, he talked about some random woman he just met. I know that the woman caught his attention and that is unusual because he doesn’t really care about the ladies who are trying to catch his attention. Only this one.

I started to feel uneasy. I know jealousy is creeping in my chest. I know something in me has changed.

I have already fallen for my “bestfriend” and I don’t like it. I was a mess. I was confused whether I should tell him or not. I don’t know what to do. I started to act differently.

One day, during our late night talks, he asked if I already feel differently towards him. I have been too obvious. He told me he wasn’t ready for any relationships. I told him that I don’t really like how I feel for him and I don’t want him to be my boyfriend, yet. Not now, maybe after five years but not now.

We came to an agreement to stay as friends. Just friends.

It was a rough journey. You’ll always be afraid to lose him just because you loved him. Things got awkward at first but our friendship remained, our friendship endured and so does my feelings.
